Don't over look these sweet little tandem flesh flies. They are unweighted, so they tumble and undulate just like flesh rolling along with the current and big trout vacuum them up! Originally designed for the Kenai, they have cleaned house all over Alaska from Bristol Bay to the Matsu.

The Battle Creek Special is one of the very best small searching/flesh flies. In SE Alaska it is hands-down the best Dolly Varden flesh pattern. It is also very effective in the interim time when salmon are in the creeks but not yet putting down eggs.

Trout and Dolly Varden can be very particular about flesh color. The weighted Ginger Flesh Fly is usually the first color to come out of the fly box. It is a nice mid spawn color that has a touch of both fresh flesh and old flesh.

If you could only choose one color of this fly it would be Dirty Sock. This is the color that opened our eyes to this pattern. After a 4th completely tangled bead rig on a small stream, it was really nice to swing this fly with on a floating line with no split shot, indicator or anything else and catch a ton of fish!

The Spawning Llama is 4 inches in length and is tied like a standard Dolly Llama. Except it features a hot cone and two 8mm beads tied in between the trailing hook and the body. You'll want a few in your flesh box!
