If you are looking for that Next Level swinging fly for steelhead, salmon and big Dollies, look no further than the Tungsten Double Eggabou. We took all the best parts of an Alaskabou fly, added a couple of knock-out beads to the stinger wire and a tungsten cone to get it down where the big fish live. Even with a tungsten cone, these are easy to cast and look unbelievable in the water.

Sometimes less is more and having a few sculpins on the smaller end of the scale is a good idea. Mike's Mini Sculpin is only 2 1/4" long and has a minimal amount of materials in it. It gets right down to the bottom and is amazingly life-like as a sculpin hiding in the rocks.

Check out this sweet little rubber leg nymph. Originally tied for sea run brown trout, it has proven just as effective at hooking sea run rainbow trout. The wire body and bead head drop it right in the zone and the rubber legs add a ton of attraction. This is a great fly for reaching steelhead that are laid up along a log or tucked in a hidy hole.

The Egg Raider has become one of our go-to rainbow trout flies in Bristol Bay. There is something about this 4" long super wiggly leech with an egg on the front that rainbows and Dollies can't resist. It is equally effective on the swing or dead drifted.

Jerry's WMD Sculpin is a rainbow trout slayer. It has a head profile that realistically pushes water and two sets of rubber legs to give it plenty of wiggle. The stinger hook in the back is ideal for hooking predators that attach from behind. This should be in your Bristol Bay Trout Box.

Lamprey are found in rivers all over Alaska but are especially prevalent in the Bristol Bay region. Any river with lamprey will also host rainbow trout having a heyday eating them. Jerry's Lamprey is made up of a seductive combination of rabbit, rubber legs, ostrich and a bead head to make it undulate and flow in the current. Make sure to have these in your rainbow fly box if you are fishing in June and July!

The Pink Tidewater Shrimp is subdued enough to fish over pressured salmon, but has just a hint of flash in the body to get their attention. This a deadly intertidal or estuary fly for silvers, pinks and chum as well as a sneaky little steelhead fly.

This seductive little shrimp pattern is just the ticket for selective salmon and steelhead. It has just a hint of flash in the body but is an otherwise subdued fly that won't spook fish. The Chartreuse version is an ideal candidate for intertidal chum and silvers.

The Tungsten Mini Dolly Llama is a big trout slayer. At 3 inches in length, it is just the right size to tempt large fish. The tungsten cone is extra heavy and helps this fly drop into "the zone" quickly.  It jigs like crazy when you strip it.

The Spit Decision is the classic 2 for 1 "steak and eggs" flesh fly.  Tied in the standbye colors of tan flesh or washed out flesh, the trailing salmon pink bead makes the fly that much harder for a hungry trout to resist. Drift it or swing it, some hungry flesh eater is going to smash it.

If you are fishing in Bristol Bay or the Matsu in June or July, this fly is money. We have had folks come back from week long float trips where this was the #1 rainbow trout catching fly. Make sure to have a few in your box. Not only do they fish incredibly well, but they are easy to cast and can be thrown on a trout Spey rod quite nicely.

When big trout are on the prowl in the spring, the Skiddish Smolt is on the menu. The seductive combination of ostrich, peacock and flash with a bright red underbody is irresistible to trout. You can swing this fly on your trout Spey rod or strip it erratically.

Alaska has some big damsel flies and trout love to eat them. And is there anything cooler than seeing a big old trout nose come up and eat one of these? We love this damsel because it is durable and the rubber legs quiver at the slightest motion. Hang on!
