Griffith’s Gnat

Description

When the trout or grayling get fussy, they are often feeding on midges. Tie on a Griffith’s Gnat and watch your luck change.

We don’t fish a lot of 5X and 6X tippet in Alaska, but if you tie one of these in a #18 on, you’ll need it! This is a go-to standby for grayling and early season rainbows before the salmon return. If you have a hard time seeing it, try trailing it off of a larger dry (in places double fly rigs are aloud, of course).
