The Olive Fish Skull Zonker is a great sculpin and small fish imitiation that can entice a hungry trout anytime. The keel weighted Fish Skull Head gives this fly a lot of motion when stripped. Try fishing this in spring and early summer and then again in the late fall. Swung or stripped, it will definitely turn a fish or two.

Fish Skull Zonkers are a beautifully tied update of the classic baitfish pattern. The Ice Queen version has a nice flashy belly and a white wing/tail that make it stand out in murky water. What really makes this fly pop though is the red throat. Whether the fish thinks the red is a flash of the gills or bleeding bait, who knows? What we do know is that trout devour this color combination, especially when fished in stillwater, slow moving streams or in the estuaries. The keel weighted Fish Skull Head gives this fly a lot of motion when stripped.

You won't beieve this surface fly until you try it during the salmon spawn. Find a group of spawing salmon with Dolly Varden hanging around eating eggs. In other words a classic bead fishing situation. Tie on our custom Orange Gurgler, cast it out and strip it back FAST! Not only will Dollies chase it down, but the biggest ones seem to attack it with the most gusto. An amazingly fun fly when you need a change up from bead fishing.
