Hi Brad. I will be making a trip to Juneau to visit my nephew from May 22nd to 26th. While there, I was planning to do some fly fishing with him. I plan to purchase the Spring sea-run Dolly Varden & cutthroat fly selection as coming from MT, my fly collection does not include any of these patterns. In the text it says; “We suggest fishing these flies on a floating line with a RIO 9 foot, 2x leader” and this is a bit puzzling to me. These flies seem to be subsurface flies. I have a RIO Premium Streamer tip 10-foot type 6 sink tip line on the reel I was planning to bring. Will the combination of these flies and the line I mentioned be a good set-up for fishing in the Juneau area toward the end of May? Thank you. Paul Koehler. Bozeman, MT

Hi – I recently bought some Dali Llama flies from you for Do it yourself on rivers near Nome in August (Have had astounding fishing there). But looking for any advice on Aleutians – specifically Amchitka. Going for work in May/June. Dollies in small lakes and streams – plan on some midges, pupae, and small streamers. Any other advice would be welcome. Also if there’s anything worth throwing to along coastlines/harbors would be welcome (sea-run dollies/trout/salmon).
