If you have just read Coho: A User's Guide, you read the suggested items for getting out on the water. Here, we have simplified your life just a little bit by grouping all of the items together in one place!
First, you will notice we have added two of our favorite silver salmon fly rods. Both are fast action, and deliver big and small flies well. Of the two, the Sage Pulse is a slightly softer rod, thus you can feel the rod loading in hand very well. The Echo Boost is on the faster side of the spectrum, and whether you are a novice or experienced angler, it is a very forgiving fly rod to cast.
Next, we have included the Lamson Guru II reel. This reel is made in the US, and has a sturdy smooth drag for salmon fishing. We will load the reel up with 20# dacron backing at no cost to you.. We just need to know which hand you reel with.
As far as fly lines go, we have included both the Rio Versi-Tip fly line, which is your multi tip line, that is suggested in the article. And, the Rio Grand fly line, which has a solid heavy front taper for delivering heavy flies.
The Silver Salmon fly selection has a variety of flies ranging from Clouser Minnows, Dolly Llamas, Egg Sucking Leeches, and Popper Wogs. Needless to say, it'll cover your silver salmon angling bases!
