Juneau Report 8-17-12

Fishing in the Juneau area continues to be great. Not a lot has changed since our last report. The Chum spawn is starting to slow, so dollies may be keying in on some older washed out colors of beads. Think Apricot, Mottled Gold Roe and Mottled Egg Yolk.

There are still a few pinks left out at Echo, but it sounds like it is starting tail off. At the head of the cove, near the boat ramp, there are far fewer fish. Out towards the mouth there are sporadic schools.

One exciting development, we are hearing rumors of the first Silvers of the year, but it is just the very beginning. We expect to see fish in Cowee Creek and the Channel soon. The weather looks good for the weekend, so get out there and get your fish on. Maybe an early, acrobatic silver will grace you with its presence.

Good Luck,
