Question:

Hey Brad! This is Jerry Lewis down here in Montana. I have bought flies from you folks before. I am almost internet illiterate and would rather talk to you personally. I am coming to Alaska in early September and would like to carry a few Dolly Varden flies with me. When you call your fly a Dolly Llama are you implying they are good on Dolly Varden? Any suggestions? I love those Copper Swans for Sockeye so when I order I will want maybe more of them also. Thanks....

Answer:

Hi Jerry,

Mike here. The name Dolly Llama is a play on Dhali Lama as it is refered to as the “fly of enlightment.” Dolly Llamas or Llamas for short, can be effective on late season Dolly Varden, as can be UV Mini Leeches in pearl or pink, small clouser minnow (olive/white, all white, ) the Honey Hole (all colors) and “washed out” or “dead egg” beads.

Please give us a shout anytime and we will help you in anyway we can to help you prep for your trip. 907-586-1550
