I’m going to Iliamna Lodge the last week in July. They provide the flies but I wouldn’t mind a selection that they might not have (if for no other reason to psych my friends out). Do you have a suggestion? Thanks.

I will be in Alaska for 2 weeks (Sept 7-21). 2 stops in Junea. I will have a car and plan to do the normal Mendenhal glacier walk but would like to stop at roadside river or creek to flyfish. I dont care about huge salmon and would prefer to catch and release something smaller on maybe a 5wt. Is that something in the area I could do and not have to bring waders or big rod? I’ll stop in for flys but am trying to reduce the gear since i am the only fisher i the group. Even if for a half hour or hour would be ok, just to try. Normally fish MI, CO, UT. Thanks

Hello, Any experience what patterns work well for the Cordova area? Looking at Sockeye and maybe silvers later in the summer. Also one river I’m looking to fish doesn’t allow added weight to the line. I was planning to look at patterns that are weighted. Any other suggestions?
