Hello, I am headed to Alaska June 11th-22nd and plan to fish mostly the first week. I have a 8wt Dully switch rod and plan to barrow a 8-12wt rod to through streamers depending on what I can find to barrow. I just need some recommendations on rivers and lakes near Anchorage to fish for Kings, sockeye, rainbows, and whatever else I can get my hands on but mostly want to catch some salmon. Also want to get recommendations for flys for them all. Thank you sir.

I’m going to Iliamna Lodge the last week in July. They provide the flies but I wouldn’t mind a selection that they might not have (if for no other reason to psych my friends out). Do you have a suggestion? Thanks.

I will be in Alaska for 2 weeks (Sept 7-21). 2 stops in Junea. I will have a car and plan to do the normal Mendenhal glacier walk but would like to stop at roadside river or creek to flyfish. I dont care about huge salmon and would prefer to catch and release something smaller on maybe a 5wt. Is that something in the area I could do and not have to bring waders or big rod? I’ll stop in for flys but am trying to reduce the gear since i am the only fisher i the group. Even if for a half hour or hour would be ok, just to try. Normally fish MI, CO, UT. Thanks
