Question:
a friend and myself are taking a trip to Talkeetna in July to do a heli fly, guide float on i believe Clear Creek. I was going to purchase so material and tie up some Dalai Lama flies. I was thinking # 6 and #4 in green, black, white, red, brown, olive. Am I in the right ballpark or out in Left field? any advice would be great. Thank you Paul Reyes

Paul – Thank you for reaching out. Tying up Llamas in those colors should trick a few fish. I would also look at tying up some string leeches in bewtween two-three inches long with dubbed heads. Check out the Willie Nelson and Al Green for examples. And don’t forget to bring a few small stinger style mice. Mini Hankeys, Cousin It and Stinger Mouse are good examples.
