Hi, I will be in AK from June 2-19. I’ve been fishing my whole life but only recently started flyfishing. I’ve got a 6WT and 4WT rod. I’ll be between Anchorage and Denali for a few days and then down around Kenai/Seward around the 11th. I’ve got four chartered days at the end, but I’ll be solo for the beginning of the trip. Looking for recommendations for flies. Looking at the regulations for the areas I’ll be, it looks like I’ll be limited to grayling and trout. Thanks!

Hi Brad, I was looking at the Redington Dually 8116-4 package on the website and it says that it comes with a Redington behemoth fly reel but in the picture it looks like the fly reel is a Echo. I was just wondering which reel actually comes with the package. I was also wondering how your price is so low because the dually by itself is a $300 rod and the behemoth is $120, as well as the Rio shooter line which is also $120. Do you get special pricing or something? Regards, Bohdi

Hi Brad. I will be making a trip to Juneau to visit my nephew from May 22nd to 26th. While there, I was planning to do some fly fishing with him. I plan to purchase the Spring sea-run Dolly Varden & cutthroat fly selection as coming from MT, my fly collection does not include any of these patterns. In the text it says; “We suggest fishing these flies on a floating line with a RIO 9 foot, 2x leader” and this is a bit puzzling to me. These flies seem to be subsurface flies. I have a RIO Premium Streamer tip 10-foot type 6 sink tip line on the reel I was planning to bring. Will the combination of these flies and the line I mentioned be a good set-up for fishing in the Juneau area toward the end of May? Thank you. Paul Koehler. Bozeman, MT
