The lines come in four sizes starting at a WF6. They all have a short 21 to 23 foot head with a long 12 to 15 foot rear taper. Behind the rear taper is a 25 to 30 foot heavy level mending zone. The combination of the rear taper and mending zone allows the fisherman to reposition the head after casting and still have enough mass to stack mend line for 60 feet or more. After the mending zone the line is made with Airflo's unique low stretch ridged running line, helping you to stick fish even at the end of the longest drifts.Total line length is 130'.
The Speydicator does a nice job of throwing short sink tips, too. Loop on a 10' Polyleader, Rio Versi-Leader, or create your own from Airflo's Custom Cut Tips. If you need to throw long heavy tips an Airflo Skagit set up would be better.
Note: This is a BIG fly line (130' & large diameter) and takes up a lot of room on a reel. For instance, the WF8 Speydicator with less than 100 yds of backing will barely fit on a 10 weight reel. You may want to consider going up two reel size. i.e. 8 weight Speydicator on an 11/12 weight reel.
