Redington CPX 1138-4

Redington's CPX 1138-4 8wt. Switch.  This is the anadroumous performer from Redington's line up. Steelhead, Silvers, Sockeye and Chum will tremble at the feet of this all-around bad boy.  Great for overhead beach fishing with a rio outbound or throw on a Scandi or Skagit head to swing the big rivers of the Pacific Northwest, B.C. and Alaska.

Reel Recommendations:

• sage 4580 CF (single hand lines only!!!)
• Lamson Guru 4, Velocity 4, Litespeed 4
• Nautilus NV 10 or CCF 10
• galvan torque 10
• ross cla 5
• Abel Super 11

Single Hand Lines:

• rio outbound WF-9 or WF-9 for beach casting or overhead casting from a boat 
• rio clouser WF-9-F or WF-10-F for dry line and indicator use
• S.A. Sharkskin Magnum Taper WF-9-F for dry line and indicator use
• S.A. Sharskin Salmon/Steelhead WF-10-F for indicator use with a long leader
• Rio DC 24' Streamer Sink Tip 300 grain for getting deep when overhead casting 

*Please note that these are recommendations that we like.  Some casters prefer to over line this rod. This rod will fish well with 9wt or 10wt lines. Pleae email us with questions.

Double Hand/Spey Lines 390-570 grains:

• Airflo scandi compact 390gr, 420gr, 450gr, 480gr.-For dry line use such as skating dries and swinging nymphs (We like the 420gr for advanced casters, the 450gr. for most casters and the 480 gr. for intermediate to novice casters.  Peolple who really like to load the rod will choose the 480 gr.)
• Airflo Skagit Compaact 480gr, 510 gr, 540gr, 570.-For use with a sink tip and heavier flies (Those prefering to use a lighter head with a quick, compact casting storke should try the 480gr.  We like the 510gr for most sink tip needs, but those who like to heavily load the rod may prefer the 540gr. or even the 570gr.)
• Beulah Elixir 420gr,  Scandinavian style shooting head for skating dries or nymphs. (We like the 420gr. as an overall Scandi line. Those who like to heavily load the rod may like the 520gr.) 
• Beulah Tonic 450 gr, 540gr..-Skagit style head for use with sink tips and heavy flies. (The 450gr. is a great head for advanced casters and 4540gr. is the all around head suited to most casters' needs.)

Poly Leaders/Sink Tips:

• Airflo 14' Polyleaders (Floating and Intermediate sink for use with Scandi Heads and Fast Sink-Extra Super Fast for use with Skagit-style heads.)
• Airflo Custom Cut 200 gr. cut to 8'-12' (Use with Skagit style heads and lines.)
• Rio  T8 cut to 10'-15', T11 cut to 10'-15'(Use with Skagit style heads and lines.)
