schlappen feathers are wide and webby and make awesome salmon flies. The individual barbs are much softer than standard hackle and flow enticingly in the water. Great for hackling or wrapping collars.
Schlappen is much easier to fold than standard hackle. schlappen feathers come from the area around the rooster's tail.
Feather length is 5"-6" and there is approximately 1/4 oz of feathers in a package. Sizing runs from 2/0 - #4.
