Alaska Fly Tying Kit

Everything you need to learn to tie flies. We make these kits ourselves and they have been very popular. Kit includes a fly tying vise, tool kit, hardback instruction book, supplemental instruction sheet that "walks you through" the book, and enough materials and hooks to tie 50 flies.

Most tying kits are focused on traditional "Rocky Mountain" trout flies. The Alaska Fly Fishing Goods custom kit will teach you how to tie flies that work in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest. Our kit includes materials and instuctions to tie Wooly Buggers, Salmon Fry, and Egg Sucking Leeches. Once you have mastered these tying techniques, you will have the skills to tie many other salmon and trout flies.

The kit includes a very basic vise. Many fly tiers want to upgrade to a higher quality vise, so we offer the opportunity to choose a Renzetti Traveler or Presentation 2000 vise. Note that the Renzetti Vises are for right handed tyers.
