Echo SR 8 Switch

This is the master in the Echo Line up.  Ugly and bad!  This beast is easy to cast and will work salmon, steelhead and trout over from Alaska all the way down to California and beyond.  Good for singlehand and overhead use, excellent for double hand spey use!  Throw a S.A. Sharkskin on her and the SR 8 becomes a nymphing machine.  Throw a rio outbound on her and beaches beware.  Throw a Skagit head on her and she'll touch the moon.  This rod is a great choice for the angler looking to save a few bucks or the guy wanting to taste "Switch" fishing.

Reel Recommendations:

• sage 4580 CF (single hand lines only!!!)
• Lamson Guru 4, Velocity 4, Litespeed 4

Single Hand Lines:

• rio outbound WF-9-F or WF-9-Intermediate for beach casting or overhead casting from a boat 
• rio clouser WF-9-F or WF-10-F for dry line and indicator use
• S.A. Sharkskin Magnum Taper WF-9-F for dry line and indicator use
• S.A. Sharskin Salmon/Steelhead WF-10-F for indicator use with a long leader
• Rio DC 24' Streamer Sink Tip 300 grain for getting deep when overhead casting 

*Please note that these are recommendations that we like.  Some casters prefer to over line this rod by 2 line sizes. We feel this rod will fish well with 9wt or 10wt lines. Pleae email us with questions.

Double Hand/Spey Lines 390-540 grains:

• Airflo scandi compact 390gr, 420gr, 450gr, 480gr.-For dry line use such as skating dries and swinging nymphs (We like the 420gr for advanced casters, the 450gr. for most casters and the 480 gr. for intermediate to novice casters.  People who really like to load the rod will choose the 480 gr.)
• Airflo skagit compact 480gr, 510 gr, 540gr.-For use with a sink tip and heavier flies (We like the 360gr for most sink tip needs, but those who like to heavily load the rod may prefer the 480gr.)
• Beulah Elixir 420gr, 520gr.  Scandinavian style shooting head for skating dries or nymphs. (We like the 420gr. as an overall Scandi line. Those who like to heavily load the rod may like the 520gr.) 
• Beulah Tonic 450 gr, 540gr..-Skagit style head for use with sink tips and heavy flies. (The 450gr. is a great head for advanced casters and 540gr. is the all around head suited to most casters' needs.)

• Airflo 14' Polyleaders (Floating and Intermediate sink for use with Scandi Heads and Fast Sink-Extra Super Fast for use with Skagit-style heads.)
