Kanektok:  Fishing on the Kanektok is reported as fair to good.  Like the rest of South West Alaska, the Kanektok has been pummeled by rain.  This has created high water conditions which is conducive to silvers, but makes for more challenging trout fishing.  Look for silvers holding off of gravel bars, back eddies and sloughs.  These fish can be very aggressive and are willing to come to the top.  For trout, look in the back channels for spawning salmon where egg patterns are the key.  Also try fishing flesh over snags and cut banks.  Top water enthusiasts can try mousing in the style water. (?)

Nushagak: Silvers have been pushing into the lower river for the last few weeks.  A sigh of relief after the slow king season.  Water conditions are high, so try fishing in close off of the few showing gravel bars. Fish Hareball and Starlite Leeches under the surface and Popper Wogs and Techno Wogs on top.  Silvers often hug gravel bars as they move upriver in high water so don't wade too deep.  This will only push the fish off into deeper water.

The upper river is reported as fair trout fishing. High water conditions, few spawning salmon has made anglers scramble to find the few spawning beds. Try pounding the banks and snags with sculpins and flesh when not fishing behind spawning salmon.  This can be very effective when trying to find larger trout. Try patterns like Barely Legals , S&B's Super string leeches and Sculpzillas.

Kvichak :  Fishing on the Kvichak is reported as fair.  It should start to heat up in the next few weeks  as the chum spawn goes into full swing. This is about the time the big trout start to drop out of the lake and start to feed on eggs like crazed cookie monsters. Try fishing larger 10mm beads and large egg patterns in the chum beds to start with.  In the next few weeks, go smaller with 6mm and 8mm beads as the sockeye spawn takes over. Anglers looking for silvers should check on the banks at the head of the river.

Wood/Tikchik:  Silver fishing in the Wood is said to be fair.  Look in areas down by Silver Salmon Creek.  With the high water trout fishing on the Agulawak and Agulapak is also reported as fair to good.  Swinging leeches has been good along with running nymph rigs.  Sockeye should be getting ready to spawn soon and the bead fishing will turn on.  Try fresher beads like Natural Roe and Dark Roe 6mms.

Alagnak:  High water has made for fair trout fishing conditions on the Alagnak.  Swinging leeches and drifting beads has been the ticket on the few gravel bars that are showing.  Like the rest of the area, hopes of drier weather is on everyones' mind.  Try patterns like Dolly Llamas and black string leeches for swinging and drifting 8mm and 10mm under an indicator.

Silver fishing is report as fair to good with more fish showing up each day.  The faithful Hareball Leech is a must.  Other patterns to try are Dolly Llamas in black/white and pink&purple, L.E. ESLs, Jig Spankers and Popper Wogs.

Good luck and hope for sun!
